Bouygues-Thai Ltd.
was formed in 1990, and through its relationship with sister
company Dragages, it first worked in Thailand over 20 years
ago. In 1979 Dragages (in JV) built the King Taksin the Great
Bridge over the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
Bouygues-Thai
is recognized for its experience in fast-track and design and
build projects, and has developed a strong
reputation for quality and reliability.
When Bangkok Land
awarded Bouygues-Thai the US$ 720 million contract for the
construction of Muang Thong Thani new town
in 1990, involving 2 million square metres of residential
and industrial buildings, it was regarded as Asia’s
largest contract ever awarded on a private basis.
More recently
Bouygues-Thai has completed the following buildings :

An 80,000 square metre building at Muang Thong
Thani which is multifunctional for exhibitions and shows
containing a
12,000 seats indoor air conditioned auditorium. This building
was one of the main venues for the 1998 Asian Games. A 10,000
m² sports arena and a tennis complex were also constructed
at the same time.

A 55,000 square metre exhibition and conference
hall at Muang Thong Thani.
